Pamela Susan Franklin Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pamela “Pam” Susan Franklin, a longtime resident of Chetwynd, British Columbia, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the age of 59 years.
Pam was born on Wednesday, February 3, 1965, in North Vancouver, British Columbia. She was the third child born to Kenneth Dean Franklin Sr. and Susan Dianne Franklin. Pamela grew up in Langley, British Columbia, before moving with her family to Vanderhoof, British Columbia, and finally settling in Chetwynd, British Columbia. As a child Pam attended Mapes Elementary and finished her schooling at Nechako Valley Secondary School. Pam worked in construction and coal mining throughout her life, starting out working for Duzcho before eventually working for Conuma Coal, where she was working up until her passing.
Pamela had a wicked sense of humour and was very independent. She loved her family fiercely and her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Pam was famous for the “pep talks” she would give her family members. She loved spending time with her family playing cards and Yahtzee or being outside fishing and gardening. When she was young a favourite pastime with her siblings was to cruise the backroads in her dodge pick-up truck and end the drive with a free car wash in the river! Pamela loved to cook and feed her friends and family. No one ever left her home hungry!
Pam will be lovingly remembered by her children Dustin (Anastasia) and Amanda (Clint); grandchildren Alissa, Seth, and D.J.; siblings Ken Jr. (Robynn), Tammy, Lisa, Cindy, and Jeff; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Pamela to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1100 Alward Street, Prince George, British Columbia, V2M 7B1, or a tree may be planted in her memory.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
