Obituary of Victor Yra Gonzales

Victor Yra Gonzales, beloved husband of Josephine Gonzales (nee Lalin) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the age of 85 years.
Victor was born on October 4, 1938, in Umingan, Pangasinan, Philippines. He graduated from Manuel L. Quezon University with a Bachelor of Law degree and went on to work with the Social Security Systems. In June 1977, he moved to Edmonton, and his family followed a month later. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, and he was always known for making the most of every moment.
Besides his loving wife, Victor is survived by his three children in Calgary, Jack (Luisa) Gonzales, Michelle Gonzales, and Kurt (Michele) Gonzales; his three cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Hannah, and Monica Gonzales; his four loving sisters, Linda (the late Martiniano) Pabustan, Tita (the late Greg) Galan, Jessie (Gerald) Lucius, and Liza (Cecilio) Basa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Victor was predeceased by his parents, Benigno and Inocencia Gonzales.
Relatives, friends, and those wishing to pay their respects are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 5:30 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by the burial at Eden Brook Cemetery (24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary, AB). A reception will take place following the burial; details to follow.
Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Gonzales’s service streamed live on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. You can pre-register to attend via live stream (and view the video recording afterwards).
