Kemp, Sharon Elizabeth (née Mack)
29th of April 1947 – 1st of July 2024
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Sharon Kemp, who left us on
the 1st of July 2024 at the age of 77.
Beloved wife and best friend of Garry Kemp for 54 years. Loving mother of Ian Kemp (Trish
Heffernan) and Erin Kemp. Dear daughter of the late Muriel Mack (née Bragdon). Dear sister of
Joanne Delahunty (late Neal), Michelle Jayadel (Mike), the late Judy Mack, and the late Nancy
Bégin (Roger). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and the many friends and relatives who
were touched by her kindness and generosity.
Sharon dedicated her life to her family and career. She graduated from the Brockville General
Hospital School of Nursing. She spent the majority of her career working as a Registered
Nurse, in the Emergency Room of the Queensway Carleton Hospital, located in Ottawa,
Ontario. She was a well respected and beloved member of the nursing staff at the hospital.
As friends and family will attest, Sharon’s dedication and passion for nursing extended well past
the walls of the hospital. There are very few people who knew her that were not, at some point,
nursed back to health by her loving and steady hand.
In addition to her family and career, Sharon had a passion for reading and cooking. When she
wasn’t cooking and feeding you, she would have her nose planted firmly in a book. At times she
would accomplish both at once! While in retirement, she discovered a love of many creative
pursuits, but her favourite was probably spending time with her hooking group Boots and
Baskets.
Sharon will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten. Her legacy of love, kindness, and
strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held, with a date and location to be determined. Family and friends
will be invited to attend and honour Sharon’s life.
