Karen Brine Obituary
Karen Brine, 83, of Pointe-Du-Chene, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Born in Boucherville, PQ, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Catherine (Seaman) O’Brien.
Karen graduated from The Moncton Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and master’s degree, all while working. She dedicated over 40 years to nursing and nursing administration, primarily at the Moncton Hospital, with brief periods at the Amherst Hospital and the Riverside-Albert Hospital.
Karen’s greatest joy in life was her family, with her grandchildren holding a special place in her heart as her pride and joy. Known for her adventurous spirit, Karen loved to travel and spent her winters basking in the warmth of Florida and her summers enjoying the beauty of Shediac. Her legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Karen will be sadly missed by her children, Leanne Ward (Phil), Robert Brine (Sue) and Jo-Ann Brine (Doug); grandchildren, Collin, Kate, Kris, Matt, and Nathan; sisters, Diane Cormier and Patricia O’Brien; brother, Frank O’Brien (Karen); as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lester; and sister, Michelle Condran.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff of The Moncton Hospital. Special thanks to the nursing and support staff of 4200 and 5600, Dr. Al-Karain and Dr. Bakanisi, who gave amazing care to our mother.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 6:30 pm in the Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a reception.
