The family of Doreen ‘Dodie’ (née Moore) Stewart are saddened to announce the passing of their Mom, Dodie on Sunday, July 7th, 2024. Age 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Fred for 54 years.
Daughter of the late Ed and Emmeline Moore, of Dunchurch, Ontario. Much loved Mom to Alan (the late Marilyn);
Faye Fontaine (Mark); and John. Dodie was a wonderful ‘Gramma’ to Mitch, Kyle, and Josh; and ‘Great Gramma’ to Lynkin and Ivy. Fondly remembered by Leona. Loving sister to Ollie (the late Bill), and the late Fred (Olive), Fanny (Will), Martin (Hilda), Pheobe (Wib), Vina ‘Vi’ (Harold), and Morley (Edythe). Sister-in-law to Billy Stewart (Sandy),
and the late Ted (Phyllis), Lorna (Ray), and Frank (Shirley). Dodie cherished all of her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and her many friends.
When Fred retired in 1986, Dodie and Fred sold their beloved hobby farm in Kirby, Ontario, and moved to their cottage in Dunchurch, Ontario. Dodie was happiest there, next to her family home and life-long friends and family. In July, 2020, Dodie moved to Serenity Seniors Residence – she was comfortable there in her final little home.
Dodie’s family would like to thank Dr. Neary and the Serenity family, for their excellent care of Dodie.
Resting at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound, where family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 20th from 11:30 – 1:00 P.M.
Funeral Service will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 20th at 1:00 P.M., followed by reception.
Cremation with private family interment at Fairholme Cemetery, Dunchurch, at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Dunchurch United Church (donations by cheque only, please), or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
