BITONTI-Salvatore
Passed away peacefully at home with his wife Luisa and family by his side in his 93rd year on July 4, 2024. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Luisa (Nee Lopez) whom he shared 70 years of marriage with. Loving father to Joe (Vivian), late John (1987), and Cathy Bitonti- Ciampa. Loving and cherished Nonno to Jilly, Samantha (Richard), Jenna (Robbie), Christina (Sam), Antonio and Ariana. Dear father-in-law to Jeanne-Marie (Stephen LaRocque).
He is now reunited with his loving son John who came down and carried him into Heaven.
Salvatore was born on August 9, 1931 in San Giovanni in Fiore, Calabria, Italy to his parents Giuseppe and Catarina Bitonti. He was one of 13 siblings. Survived by one brother Giovanni (Rosalia) Bitonti of Italy. Dear Brother-in-law of Agostino Lopez and wife Gulietta. Dear Zio to many neices and nephews in Canada and in Italy.
He left Italy in 1958 to start a new life for his family here in Windsor where he worked for Chrysler Canada for over 25 years of service and was a member of CAW Local 444 and a member of the Giovanni Caboto Club. He loved his family dearly, his long walks, whistling, making wine, taking care of his garden, smiling, singing and dancing the night away. We love you so much Ninilou.
Special thanks to all who cared for Salvatore especially Dr. Yusuf Oozeer, Hospice and all the PSW’s that cared for him during the final stage of his life. You will never be forgotten.
Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E (519)253-7235 on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Prayers Friday at 4:30 pm.
Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13, 2024 leaving at 9:30 am, to Parish of the Atonement Church for Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and In Memory of Salvatore, donations to Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family.
