Marcia Elizabeth “Betty” Wood – 92, Oxford, passed away June 30th, 2024 at her favourite place, Big Lake. She was born on March 29th, 1932, a daughter of Thomas Sydney and Florence Evelina “Lina” Thompson. Betty graduated from Saint Charles Commercial College and worked at the Royal Bank of Canada in Halifax and later Oxford Building Supplies. She was a former Past Chief of Pythian Sisters, Cedar Temple #21. Surviving are sons, Randy (Debbie), Logan Lake, BC; Terry, Hansford; daughters, Nancy Park, Amherst; Susan Wood, Oxford; eleven grandchildren, Sabrina, Christopher, Jenna (Ryan), Scott, Gregory (Kara), Jamie Lynn (Trevor), Shaun (Molly), Samantha (James), Michael, Emily (Kyle) and Jennifer (Ashton); nineteen great-grandchildren, Seth, Aaron, Ariel, Nathaniel, Rachael, Ben, Alice, Elizabeth, Jessica, Alexander, Lucas, Julia, Ayla, Audrey, Adalyn, Alex, Mackenzie, Riley and Radia; son-in-law, Grant Angus. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Pearl Edward Wood, in 1999; her youngest daughter, Cindy Angus, in 2022; also by brothers, Norman and Kencil; sisters, Ethel, Jennie, Bertha, Hilda, Vera, Winnie, Irma and Elaine; son-in-law, Ferdie Park; great-grandson, Nixon. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm Sunday, July 7, followed by funeral service at 3 pm, both in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium.
