It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Kenneth Bird on February 13th, 2023.
The Bird family began in Longview, Alberta with Bob being born in High River on August 2nd, 1939.
The Birds eventually settled in Black Diamond. Bob’s career took him overseas for several years in the oil patch. Upon returning to Canada with his new bride, they made the move to Okotoks.
Bob became a community contributor to the local curling club. He volunteered his time to help organizing bonspiels and was actively involved in the 1988 Alberta Scotties Championship. His participation and hard work was acknowledged in 1993 with an Honourary Curling Club Membership.
Bob’s many interests included golfing, travelling and photography, to mention a few. His sense of humour was memorable, he loved to laugh and was always ready with a joke.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Diana, daughter Trish (Pete), son-in-law Doug, grandchildren Madelyn, Taryn, Carlin and Roslyn. Bob was predeceased by his daughter Beverly (Doug) in October, 2022.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be announced at a later date.
