Obituary of Calvin Andrew Beals
BEALS, Calvin Andrew – Age 72, born in Cherry Brook and resided in Spryfield for over 40 years. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Calvin Andrew Beals on June 24, 2024, at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Edmund and Edith (Johnston) Beal.
He was a hard-working man who worked for the City of Halifax for many years. He was passionate about walking (he walked from Spryfield to Cherry Brook). He was a generous, kind, and soft-spoken man. He would do anything for anyone who needed it. He was a tinker, loved to build model cars, and was a skilled painter.
He is survived by his brothers, Gary (Brenda), Martin (Jennifer), Donald (Jennifer), Bradford, Glen (Daisy), and Charles; sisters, Sally (Jackson), Norma (Allen), Marilynn (Errol), Brenda (Michael), and Carla; daughter, Teanna Thompson; stepdaughters, Denise Marsman, and Deborah Borden; God children, Angeline Bundy, and Tiffany; lots and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Perry Beals.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the QEII for all their care and compassion during Calvin’s stay.
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax. In keeping with Calvin’s wishes there will be no visitation, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
