Robert Joseph Raymond (Bob) Wheatley went home to be with his
Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the age of 75 following a lengthy
illness. Born in Montreal, PQ, he was the son of the late George and
Berthe (Grenier) Wheatley. Besides is parents, he was predeceased by
his wife Diane (Arsenault), his sister Eileen and brothers Bernard,
Roland and Albert.
Bob worked with the Canadian Pacific Railways for many years
and at Walmart following his retirement from CPR. He was a member of
the Knights of Columbus.
He had a special bond with two dear friends Maria Wheaton and
Collin Wallace. Maria was his caregiver for many years and held a
special place in his heart. She was with him to the very end. Colin
was a good friend and great support, and he went above and beyond for
Bob. He never had any children and so Maria and Colin were his
“family”.
Bob loved his two dogs Mya and Daisy as they brought him much
comfort and companionship in his life following the passing of his
wife.
Honoring his wishes, there will be no visitation and the
interment will take place privately in the Atholville Catholic
Cemetery at a later date. There will be a mass held in memory of Bob
and his wife Diane at the Immaculate heart of Mary Catholic Church at
a date and time to be announced. Donation to the memorial of the
donor’s choice would be appreciated.
The arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview
(869-2007).
