Obituary of Jing Tang
Jing Tang passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Sunday morning, June 16, 2024, at the age of 61.
She is survived by her children James Qin (35), Kathy Qin (29), Justin Tang (19), and Karen Tang (15). Her father LiangJing Tang (85) is still with us as well.
Predeceased by her mother Xianzhen Chen, who passed away last year at the age of 85.
Jing was born to two professors of Huazhong University of Science and Technologies in Wuhan, China, on April 12, 1963. She was an accountant at the printing facility of the university before starting over in Canada at the age of 27. She did not shy away from hard work and always did what was right by her family, whether it was working odd hours at laborious jobs or taking care of her young children and ailing father.
She was a well-educated, kind-hearted, beautiful woman, who loved being a mother and her children above all else. Her other interests included cooking, singing, travelling, and watching horror movies and dramas. She instilled her children with benevolence, resilience, independence, and a healthy sense of humour to withstand all of life’s storms. We will always remember her love and sacrifices for us, and hold her forever in our hearts.
Special thanks to the oncology and palliative staff at Grand River Hospital for informing our decisions and ensuring that our mom was as comfortable as possible. They also allowed us to have late nights with her in a private room. Special thanks to Erb & Good Family Funeral Home as well, for guiding young people through these difficult times.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
