The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on
Wednesday, February 15, 2023, of Archie Sterling Rayner, of Alberton,
age 85 years. Beloved husband of Beverley Jean (Ortwein), who
predeceased him in 2018. Born at Greenmount, PEI, on August 17, 1937,
he was the son of the late George and Helen (nee Dunbar)
Rayner.
Loving father to Janice (Kevin) Hancock, of Cambridge ON, and
Wendy Gallant (deceased 2014), and her husband Danny Gallant, of
Elmsdale. Cherished grandfather to Melissa Hancock, Kaleigh (Brad)
Beales, Devin (Tanya) Hancock, Vanessa (Kendall) Schurman, Christopher
(Meagan) Gallant, Bradley Gallant (Jada Yeo), Emmalee (Logan)
Smallman, and Katie Gallant (Darcy Sherren). Great-grandfather to
Noah, Rosie, Lily, Owen, Lucy, Auston, and Brooklyn. Dear brother to
Lois (late John) Carew, Willard (late Faye), Norma (Wyman) Cairns,
Everett (Bernie), Sandra (Jim) Davis, Tommy (Debbie), Glen (Maureen),
Bea (David) Roberts, Erma (late David) McInnis, and by
sister-in-law, Patricia Bertoia (John). He will be lovingly remembered
by Miriam (Jackie) Gallant, and Velma (Frank) Bince. He will be sadly
missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.
He was predeceased by step-sister, Shirley McCue, and sister,
Pansy (late Albert) Webster, and by his stepmother, Lillian Irene (nee
Bernard) Rayner, in 2018.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours
Sunday evening February 19th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Monday
morning February 20th, from the Alberton Baptist Church, for funeral
service at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Ross Morrison officiating. Interment in
the Baptist Cemetery, Greenmount.
