John Kelsey, along with his 3 daughters are sad to announce the peaceful passing of Catherine on Friday June 7, 2024. Catherine passed at the St. Catharines Hospital, in her 86th year, after a short battle with pneumonia. Catherine leaves behind her husband John to whom she was married 67 years. She will be sadly missed by her 3 daughters, Dianne Robins (Sebastian), Karen Clark (Vito) and Ellen Tebbs (Paul).
Catherine was adored by her 4 grandchildren Sergeant Dan Robins, Laurel Olsthoorn, Devin Clark and Kyle Tebbs. She was proud as punch of her 2 great grandchildren Lincoln and Avery. She will also be missed by her nephew Paul Klager, niece Sheila Small and their families. Catherine was predeceased by her loving sister Dorothy Klager, whom she missed every single day.
Catherine was born in 1938, and she lived in St. Catharines her entire life. She married John when she was 18 and her life was devoted to her family and friends. Catherine and John were community minded. They were members of Grantham United Church (now Trillium United Church) for 63 years. As well, they were members of camping clubs, bowling leagues, shuffleboard leagues and Catherine was a member of Empress Rebekah Lodge for 50 years and she cherished her friendships made through her Craft Club. Catherine and John were blessed to travel and enjoy winters in Florida for over 28 years. Catherine will be remembered, by all who knew her for always having a seat at the table, a full teapot and homemade cookies or muffins ready for any who might stop by.
Our family would like to thank the community support received by Catherine, especially from the PSW’s and wound care nurses as well as the kind and thorough medical care received at our local hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Passfield Mortuary Services Inc. A Funeral Service will take place in celebration of Catherine’s life at Trillium United Church, 415 Linwell Rd. St.Catharines, on Friday June 21, 2024 at 2pm. The family will receive guests, wishing to pay their condolences between 1pm & 2pm. A reception with refreshments will take place following the service.
