It is with profound sadness that we announce Lynn’s passing on Feb 13th, 2023. Lynn was an incredible person who brought joy to so many people. She was passionate and driven but always made time for those she loved. Family tradition and her illustrious spirit encapsulated who Lynn was. She was predeceased by her loving husband Rev. Dr. David Williamson (2018). The eldest daughter of the late Jane (2022) and Neil (2003) McGeachy; sister to Scott and his wife Sheila McGeachy and Susan McGeachy and her husband Bill Foran; adoring mom of Kent Schultz and his wife Allison Bennett and Meghan Schultz and her husband John Nguyen; ecstatic Gram to Miles Schultz and Elliot Nguyen; Grams to Nathan and Caitlin Williamson, Jack and Graham Thompson; Aunt to Allison and Tristan Foran, Katie, Lauren, and Ryan McGeachy; and loving extended family to Drew and Laura Williamson and Amanda and James Thompson. Last but not least, good friend to Larry Litschko.
Lynn attended the University of Guelph attaining her degree in Kinesiology, then on to Windsor for her Bachelor of Education, before returning to Guelph to complete her Masters in Leadership.
She landed her first job, her dream job, at the Children’s Treatment Centre working with children in the pool. Lynn went above and beyond to develop programs which enriched the lives of children and their families including sailing, baseball, bocce, and sledge-hockey. Lynn eventually made her move to St. Clair College where she became Principal. She was instrumental in the building of the HealthPlex, the Residence, the Mary Uniac Nursing Centre, the re-opening of the Capitol Theatre, and numerous expansion projects for the Thames campus. Making sure to keep community part of the college through bursary luncheons connecting donors to students and allowing students to further their educational goals. She did an incredible job no matter the task at hand. She met them all with a goal in mind and the perseverance to see it through.
Building community was a pillar of Lynn’s life. Sitting on boards for the YMCA, Hospital Auxiliary, St Andrew’s Residence, Rotary and St. Clair College Board of Governors to name a few. She loved to build and actively managed the construction of the new Pet and Wildlife Rescue building. She ended her career with St. Andrew’s Residence, the steering committee for the new Children’s Treatment Centre building and taking on consulting projects with her good friend Aileen Murray. Lynn was not one to sit still.
Family and friends were Lynn’s happy place. She started each morning having coffee with David, navigating all that life could throw at them. She never missed a family celebration, shared in many conversations at the kitchen table, was always up for a coffee in the park, sharing a glass of wine at the lake, or a quick Winner’s run. When you were with her you felt cared for, seen, and appreciated. Lynn was one of a kind.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at the Links of Kent Golf Club & Event Centre, 120 Indian Creek Rd W, Chatham, on Friday February 24th, 2023, at 1 pm with Pastor Greg Simpson officiating. A celebration of life will follow to 4 pm. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider St. Andrew’s Residence Foundation, Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent, or a local charity of your choosing.
