HUNTER, Carol Mae Carmell
Born May 12, 1929 departed peacefully at age 95, on June 4, 2024 to her heavenly home to be with Christ which is far better. Carol, wife of the late Norman James Kendall Hunter leaves behind her five children whom she adored, son David (Barbara Beacham), daughter Elizabeth O’Hara, son Stephen (Beth Walker), son Mark (Tara MacNeil) and daughter Joyce Penelton.
Gram, as her grandchildren called her, leaves behind Carl Hunter (Alicia Wiersma), Norman O’Hara (Michelle Cassidy), Glen Hunter (Sarah Leyenaar), Lindsay McCourt (Justin McCourt), Heather Heiss (Kevin Heiss), Katie Valentin (Jon Valentin), Shane Hunter (Shannon Green), Daryl Hunter (Tanya Woodhead), Wesley Penelton (Sarah Longlade), Luke Penelton (Kiarra Wells), Heidi Penelton (Mike Fisher), Ryan Penelton (Alyssa Woolham), Reagan Hunter, and Lauryn Hunter. It always brought her joy to visit with her 20 great grandchildren and countless nieces & nephews. Survived by her dear sister Janice Kenny and predeceased by her son, Norman, sister, Helen Mauer and parents Austin and Ruth Carmell.
Carol lived every day for Jesus, her Saviour and was a great prayer warrior for each of her family members. They each counted on her prayers for them. She will always be remembered as a strong farming wife and mother who loved the challenge of sewing repairs and the canning and freezing of the farm garden produce. Carol enjoyed many friendships through the years while attending Pine Grove and Schomberg meetings and hosting Cottage meetings with her husband Ken. She was also a part of Bible Study Fellowship, Community Bible Study and Dessert Club in her later years. She often shared her gift of hospitality by hosting friends and family for meals and fellowship in her home.

All are welcome to join us at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd, Tottenham, Ontario L0G 1W0 for visitation on Sunday, June 9th from 3-6pm. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Monday, June 10th at 12 noon with a visitation period beginning at 11:30am. A light lunch reception to follow the celebration of life.
