Russell’s Obituary
FROTTEN, Russell Peter – age 72, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on May 30, 2024. Born in Quinan, he was a son of the late Augustin and Georgina (Muise) Frotten.
Russell was a kind and gentle man, and would do anything for anyone. His family and friends meant everything to him. He was a man of God, a devoted Catholic and so proud to be a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a very talented carver, working with wood and leather in his spare time. One of his leather carvings of The Last Supper, can be found in the Saint Agnes Church in Quinan. He liked to keep his hands busy, until he was no longer able to do so.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rebecca; siblings, Carol Belliveau, East Pubnico; Gilbert (Loretta) Frotten, Quinan; Richard (Simone) Frotten, Wedgeport; Maynard Frotten, Yarmouth; Sandra (Paul) Surette, Eel Brook; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother’s, Gerald in infancy and Donald (Cheryl) Frotten.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Yarmouth. Visitation will be held in Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth on Monday, June 3rd from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on June 4th at 11 a.m. in St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral. Father Henry officiating. A reception will follow the mass in the Jubilee Room. Donations in memory of Russell may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
