The passing of Helen-Jean Gourley, wife of Wayne Garfield Gourley of Fredericton, occurred on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Hospice House Fredericton. Born on April 29, 1950 in Fredericton , she was the daughter of the late Howard Leslie “Les” and Jean (Hallet) Wilson. Helen worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping, kayaking at the lake, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, Helen is survived by her sons, Kevin Gourley (Juanita) of Fredericton, Brent Gourley (Stacey) of Burtts Corner; grandchildren, William, Emily and Breanna Gourley; brothers, Stephen Wilson (Jeanie), Bill Wilson (Gloria); special nephews, Gary Wilson (Linda), Dale Gourley (Tiffany); several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and in-laws, Russell & Clara Gourley;
Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, Fredericton , NB. At Helen’s request, there will be no public services at this time. A Private Graveside Service will be held in Pickard-Merrithew Cemetery , Keswick Ridge. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Society or Hospice Fredericton.
