Viivi Urve Francis, April 4, 1931 – it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Viivi on Sunday May 26, 2024. Viivi, daughter of Kaare and Arnold Norralt, passed away peacefully with family by her side at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged in Parry Sound. She leaves behind her faithful son, Michael. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years William (Bill). Viivi is also predeceased by her loving brother Harry of Estonia.
She will be missed by many of her close friends and family who she loved dearly. Viivi was born in Estonia and came to Canada during the war. In 1957, Viivi became a Canadian citizen and carried on to become one of Canada’s first female Royal Bank of Canada bank managers.
Viivi enjoyed many years at the family cottage on Lake Shebeshekong in the Parry Sound area and was a huge lover of classical music and an avid reader. Viivi was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.
A private ceremony was held. Cremation has taken place and condolences may be forwarded to www.torrancefuneralhome.com
A celebration of life will be held at The Toronto Hunt Club. Date will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
