Richard “Rick” Paul McLaughlin
1960-2024
It is with unbelievable heartbreak that the family of Richard
Paul McLaughlin must announce he passed away of natural causes on May
28, 2024. Rick was born in Blacks Harbour on October 31st, 1960, to
Emery McLaughlin and Annette (Guitar).
He is survived by his daughters Katelyn Harris (Justin) and
Rachael McLaughlin (Sean), and their mother Kathy McLaughlin. Also,
his mother Annette Caulder, brothers James McLaughlin, David
McLaughlin, and sister Diane Mckinnon. Richard is being welcomed in
heaven by his father Emery and brother Michael
McLaughlin.
Richard was a class clown and a practical joker with his
family growing up. If he wasn’t trying to make you laugh,
then he was talking your ear off about his love for the outdoors. The
thrill of the wilderness ignited all the things Rick enjoyed in life,
whether it be fishing, hunting, camping, or boating. The only thing
that lit him up more was his love for his grandchildren Ivy Knox,
Harper Harris, and Emery Harris.
Richard was a genuine lovable person that would help anyone
in need.
