In Memory of Baldev Singh Sidhu

Beloved husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, Baldev Singh Sidhu, passed away on May 23rd, 2024, at the age of 82.
Born into a family of six siblings, he supported the family farm in India at an early age, until joining the Indian Airforce, at the age of 20. Shortly after, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada in hopes of continuing to support his siblings, and giving his wife and daughters a better life. Over the years, Baldev invested in and successfully ran farms, learned how to build homes at the age of 50, and later, moved his family to Ottawa and began driving taxi.
Baldev spent his retired life surrounded by family and loved ones. He enjoyed sharing his love through family gatherings, phone calls, jokes, gardening and quiet evenings with his wife watching tv, and of course, sneaking snacks.
Baldev is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sardarni Sukhbir Kaur sidhu; daughters, Brijinder Kaur Dhillon (Balraj Singh), Narinder Kaur Virk (Surinder Singh), Jaswinder Kaur Chahal (Avtar Singh), Manpreet Kaur Gill (Sukhpal Singh), Tajinder Kaur Chawla (Shailendar Singh); and sister Karminder Kaur Sandhu. He also leaves behind grandchildren Ravneet, Baneeta, Yasminder, Arpinder, Ajeet, Nickander, Amritpal, Mandeep, Ronika, Sienna and Mireya, as well as his great-grandchildren Aliya, Avnoor, Jeevan, Arnaaz and Zayden.
