Obituary
It is with great sadness that the families of Maude Florence (Gavin) Pinksen announce her passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL, on May 26th, 2024, in her 89th year.
Maude was born in Middle Arm, White Bay, to Thomas and Irene Gavin, on December 11, 1934. She grew up in Seal Cove, where she met and married the love of her life, Esau Pinksen. Together they had 11 children and spent their life in Seal Cove.
Maude was a very gentle, quiet, caring person who always put her family first. She loved to travel, cook, knit, play games, and was very good at playing prank jokes on people. She dearly loved her family, and her house was always full of fun, food and laughter. Her favorite thing was to have her children and their families visit. The more the merrier!
Maude is predeceased by her husband, Esau, her infant son, and daughter Irene Short. Also, her parents, Thomas and Irene Gavin, parents in law, Martin and Maude Pinksen, Brother Herb (Mary) Gavin, Sisters Blanche (Hector) Osbourne, Pearl (Victor) Osbourne, Majorie (Gordon) Rice, Maisie (Kenneth) Osbourne.
Left with fond and loving memories are her children, Roy (Neta) Pinksen, Garry (Karen) Pinksen, Bonnie (Cliff) Piercey, Bruce (Trudy) Pinksen, Clifford (Karen) Pinksen, Harvey Pinksen, Lorne (Tammy) Pinksen, Wanda (Dave) Churchill, Brian (Sandi) Pinksen, Son in law Bronson (Maxine) Short, Brother Claude Gavin, 21 Grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Maude was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will take place at Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Tuesday May 28th, 2-4 pm for family, and 7-9 pm for public viewing.
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at 11:00 am, from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Bennett Avenue, Deer Lake, with Pastor Jeffery White officiating. Internment will take place at Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Seal Cove, White Bay following the morning service.
