Patricia Winnifred Bagwell crossed the sacred threshold and entered into eternity on May 21, 2024.
Patricia was born on October 23, 1947, in Seaton, Devonshire, England. At the age of six months, Patricia and her parents boarded the RMS Queen Mary, and came to Canada, settling in Regina, SK. Patricia grew up in the family home her father built on Rae Street and attended Albert School and Scott Collegiate. An Isbister Award winner, Patricia went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus. She worked as a computer programmer with SaskTel before embarking on a two-year sojourn, living in London, England and travelling throughout Europe. She later enjoyed travelling to Egypt, Greece, Barbados, St. Lucia, Hawaii, Australia, and especially New Zealand where she resided on two occasions for several months.
Patricia worked in the library of the British Israel World Federation in London, as well as the Regina Public Library and Saskatchewan Provincial Library, and was a volunteer with Imperial and Wascana School Libraries. She acquired a large personal collection of books, and was, herself, a living library with a vast knowledge of a wide array of subjects including astronomy, ancient history, the monarchy, and the natural world. Using her in-depth knowledge of scripture, she had many articles published in Covenant Nations magazine.
After caring for her father who had Alzheimer’s Disease, she dedicated many hours to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, which honoured her with their Volunteerism Award in 2012.
Patricia is now reunited with her parents, Ernie and Winnie Bagwell; brother Reg; and an unborn sibling. She is remembered with love by her brother Doug (Linda) of Air Ronge; sister-in-law Rhonda of Regina; and five nephews and nieces and their children. Patricia will be greatly missed by loved ones around the world; she was a loyal and trusted friend.
Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, followed by a reception. Patricia will be interred at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made to the Regina Food Bank 445 Winnipeg Street, Regina SK, S4R 8P2, reginafoodbank.ca or the local food bank in your community.
