Nelly KOCSAR
August 21, 1930 – May 16, 2024
Nelly Kocsar passed into the presence of the Lord on Thursday May 16, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born (Nelly Koetsier) on August 21, 1930 in Boskoop, The Netherlands.
She was raised in Holland where she became a schoolteacher, working in Amersfoort for 10 years before emigrating to Canada where she met her devoted husband Arthur (Art),
who predeceased her in 2009. Nelly is deeply missed by her loving children Andrew (Cheryll), Sherry (predeceased), Mark (Joanne), Ben (Amanda), Tim (Sara), and grandchildren Tyler (Lina), Joshua, Matthew, Anna, Alyssa, and Cassandra. Nelly is also survived by her sister Maria Bomhof of Langley, British Columbia.
A memorial service for Nelly will be held at Gateway Community Church, 2884 Gladys Avenue, Abbotsford, B.C. on Monday May 27, 2024 at 12:00 noon. Interment will occur at 11:00 AM at Hazelwood Cemetery. Nelly’s family wishes to thank Dr. Moodley and the doctors and nurses of the Abbotsford Regional Hospital’s Acute Care for the Elderly
ACE unit for the excellent care they provided. The family also thanks the dedicated staff at Abbotsford Home Health for allowing mom to realize her wish of staying in her home.
