It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Bruce Henry Smith of Brookside announces his passing. Bruce passed away at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the age of 65.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Elsie of 45 years; son, James Smith (Tracy Keating) of Baine Harbour; daughter, Jenn Smith of Myrnam, AB; grandchildren, Madison (Dylan), Grant (Hunter), Brooklyn, Mason & Chance; mother, Winnifred Smith of Marystown; sisters, Frances Matterface (Floyd) of Brookside and Ashley Smith (Aaron) of Lawn; brothers, Lester Smith (Linda) of Marystown, Brian Smith (Marjorie Keeping) of Brookside, Walter Smith (Beatrice) of Marystown, Doug Smith (Pauline) of St. Bernard’s and Johnny Smith (Krista) of Alberta; brother-in-law, Dave Power of Creston North; mother-in-law, Jane Drake of Bay L’Argent; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Gaulton (Mike) of Marystown and Daphne Banfield (Barry) of Bay L’Argent; brothers-in-law, Onslow Drake (Sandra) of St. Bernard’s and Morley Drake (Kim) of Alberta; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Bruce was predeceased by his father, John Smith; sister, Eileen Power; and father-in-law, Onslow Drake.
In honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
