The family of Harold Randolph Leopold of Coleman Township is saddened to announce his passing on May 16, 2024 at the age of 71 years.
He was born in Ottawa on March 25, 1953, one year after his family immigrated from Switzerland. Harold was raised in Gillies Township along with his four siblings. Harold was a dedicated police officer for 33 years. He did a job that most people admit they could not do. He started his career with the Toronto Metropolitan Police and in 1975 he joined the New Liskeard Police Department. Harold retired from the Temiskaming Detachment of the OPP.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen Leopold (Finnerty), by his daughter Atalie Brown (Craig), his five grandchildren Madison Wilson (Spencer), Keragan, Elliott, Jillian, Sullivan and by his two great-grandchildren Tucker and Dougie. Harold also leaves behind his sisters Karin Nielsen, Margot Sawyer, his sisters-in-law Ellen Leopold, Sharon Leopold and Sandra Mosco (Terry) and by his brother-in-law Michael Finnerty (Joanne). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Harold is predeceased by his son Mitchell Leopold, his parents Kurt Sr. and Vreni (Wyss) Leopold, by his brothers Kurt and Gunter Leopold and by his sister-in-law Debbie Allan (Finnerty).
The family would like to thank all of the friends and family who visited, brought food and gave support. They would also like to thank Dr. Besner and all the wonderful staff from the Temiskaming Hospital.
Harold will be missed.
