BALDO, Vincent ‘Vince’- Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Thursday May 16, 2024 at the age of 85. He is survived by his children Maria Appelgren (Petros Gougoulakis), Franca (Vincent De Luca), Tony (Beth), Lisa (Rory Stackwood) and grandchildren Roberto and Alexis (Stina) Appelgren Gougoulakis, Zena and Fiorenza Stackwood and great grandson Theo. He will be forever remembered by his long time companion Josephine Callaghan. Vincent leaves behind his sister Melina, brothers Pino (Jean), Elio (Giannina) , sister-in-law Anna Maria as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy, United States and Canada. Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Francesca (nee Castronovo) sister Maria Angela (James Licata), brother Felice and brother-in-law Lillo Romito. Vince was a hard worker, he worked at General Motors for over 30 years. He had many activities that kept him busy, he was an avid gardener, a wine maker, a traveler (especially to Cuba), outdoorsman and he loved to learn new things. He was an active member of Club Roma for over 50 years and was one of the founding members of their soccer team. Vince immigrated to Canada in 1961 from Grotte, Agrigento, Sicily and always maintained his Italian heritage as it was near and dear to his heart. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Thursday May 23, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held Friday May 24, 2024 at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
