Thomas Ellsworth Robinson Obituary
After a two-week stay in Joseph Brant Hospital, Thomas Ellsworth Robinson passed peacefully to his heavenly home early in the morning on May 15, 2024 at the age of 92. Ellsworth was born in West Hamilton, on December 10, 1931. He married Barbara Baird on October 11, 1952. Together they built a house on Centre Road in Flamborough, where they raised four children. He lived there until he moved into Village Manor Retirement Home in Waterdown in February 2021. Ellsworth and Barbara were married for a total of 70 years until Barbara passed away in May of 2023.
Ellsworth committed his life to Christ and was baptized at Stanley Avenue Baptist Church in Hamilton where he became a lifelong member. He served in this church in many ways in the Sunday School, the music ministry, as a deacon and in the seniors’ fellowship. He was blessed with a beautiful tenor voice and sang many solos in his home church as well as several others where he was invited.
Ellsworth enjoyed camping with his family and vacationing with Barbara in Florida. He enjoyed sports and faithfully followed the Maple Leafs, Ti-Cats and Blue Jays through all their ups and downs, even to the very end when he was admitted to hospital.
Ellsworth is survived by his brother Allan and will be lovingly remembered by his family, Shelley (Mark), Tom (Sandy), Tim (Sandy) and Paul (Colleen). Tim sadly passed away on the same day as Ellsworth due to complications from ALS disease. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will also cherish his memory.
A Gathering will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with a Time of Remembrance at 11:30 a.m.
