Audrey Gladys Pawis (Tabobondung) passed away with her family by her side at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024. Age 89 years.
Dear daughter of the late Waubgeshig and Lucy Tabobondung. Wife of the late Lorne Fredrick Pawis. Loving mother of Lorna, Dave, Bertha, Warren, Ethel, Tracey, Conrad and adopted son Norm Swanson Sr. Predeceased by her daughter Deborah. Loving Nokmis/Nan to Laureen, Chris, Justin, Lyzander, Andrea, Waukomaun, Jacob, Travis, John, Nancy, Lorne, Sam, Niiwingiigodah, Josh, Lee Ann, and Erica Ann, Jesse and Josh. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren’s partners. Great Nokmis/Nan to Zakkary,Tyson, Austin, Deion, Ocean, Montana, Kamyia, Brody, Chase, Muskwendum,Ogitchida, Mino-Margret,, Saagasgeh, Melody, Zack, Dillion, Biidaasmoseh, Blossom, Paimossigai, Jenfir, Nadia, Semma, Karma and Carlisle, Great-Great Nokmis to Raya and Aziah. Predeceased by her siblings Nellie, Frank, Alfred, Eldridge, William, Anderson, Aileen, Jane, Stella, and Clara. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, brother and sister in-law, adopted granddaughter and many friends.
Audrey was a Community Health Representative for 25+ years and was dedicated and committed to her community of Wasauksing. She was integral in the planning and development of Wasauksing Health and Social Services programs. Audrey was awarded the Ontario Senior Achievement Award in 2004. She enjoyed her crafts and her pieces of work can be seen around the world.

Resting at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound, where friends will be received on Sunday, May 19th from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Monday, May 20th from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Funeral Service will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 21st at 11:00 A.M.
Cremation to follow.
Interment of Ashes at Wasauksing Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation, or Mama’s Language program.
