Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Marie Louise Mandeville, at the age of 61 years. On February 9, 2023, Marie passed away peacefully at her home in Foxtrap, Newfoundland, with her beloved cat “Puss” by her side.
She is predeceased by her parents James & Elizabeth Mandeville, her partner Mark King and other members of the Mandeville and Daley Families.
Marie leaves to mourn her loving brother David and his special friend Cathy; cousins: Steve (Iris) Daly; Madonna (Lorne) Marsh and family, Elizabeth (Roy) Furey; Gerard Burke and his children Jack and Jane and their mother Daphne; and Neil (Gloria) Mandville. Also mourning Marie are her close friends Susan Serran, Morgan Hickey, Nick St. Croix, Sean Hamilton and her former co-workers at the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
A special thank you is extended to the first responders for your compassion and care, to Bill Breen and Helena Critch for officiating the prayers and service, to Gibbons’ Funeral Home for your care and support and to our friends and neighbors who phoned, visited and so generously dropped off food – your kindness will never be forgotten.
Marie moved back home from Toronto three years ago when she retired from her job with the TTC. We feel so grateful that we got to share this special time with her.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Gibbons’ Funeral Home, St. Mary’s, NL, on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 2 – 4pm; 7 – 9pm. A burial (prayer) service will be held on Saturday, February 25, at 12pm, at Gibbons’ Funeral Home. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s.
