Obituary
It’s with great sadness announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Mom passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at Pleasant Towers, her home for the past three and half years. She fought a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was predeceased by her sons; Michael and Gerard “Junior”, parents; Frank and Mary (nee Connolly) Marrie and siblings: Joseph, Richard “Dick”, Edmund “Buck”, Hannah and Teresa.
Eileen is lovingly remembered by her husband Ignatius “Nesh”, daughters: Anna (John), Tina and Christina (Jack), grandchildren: Angela, Jennifer (Adam), Kayla, Sara (Tim) and Adam, great grandchildren: Jack, Conner, Ivey, Maximino and Annie, sisters: Frances, Carmel and Clara (Ron), as well as a circle of other relatives and friends.
Mom celebrated a good life. She was a devoted wife, a magnificent mother and grandmother. Eileen was a very enthusiastic and intelligent woman. She enjoyed her years working as a Janitor at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel school and years later she worked at Witless Bay Fish Plant and studied at Marine College in Quality Control Management. Eileen taught herself to be one of the greatest gardeners, one of her favourite passions. Her hobbies included; fishing, berry picking and of course working in the woods side by side with her better half. She was a devoted lover of animals, especially her cats.
There’s no doubt, Heaven has just welcomed a soul non better than mom. RIP Mom
Mom would want us to acknowledge on her behalf two people she adored in the community, Dot and Michael Ezekiel. They both had a special place in her heart. On behalf of the family, thank you for your kindness and generosity over the years.
Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Dunphy’s Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16th at 2:00 pm with cremation to follow.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff and management at Pleasantville Towers. Especially 3 South East. Your dedication to making Mom’s new home for the past three and half years a place of safety and comfort was greatly appreciated.
