We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Georgios Pantidis on Monday, May 13 at St. Joseph’s Healthcare surrounded by family. Georgios was born in Kilkis, Greece to Evgenia and Panagiotis on July 20, 1935. At the age of 9 he moved to Katerini, Greece and in 1960 married his wife, Anoula. In 1964 they immigrated to Canada to provide a better life for their family. Georgios and Anoula ran many businesses in Hamilton including Anne’s Variety, George’s Car Clean-Up and Olympus Submarine. Georgios was predeceased by his parents, Evgenia and Panagiotis, his wife, Anoula, his sisters, Evangelia and Aristea and his brother, Nick. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Jeannie (Denis) Stolf, Sophia (Jerry) DalliCardillo, and Kathy (Allan) Smith. He was the proud grandfather to Phillip (Brittany), George, Jamie (Sean), Annie, Amanda (Patrick), Georgia and Mytchel and great-grandfather to Alexander, Olivia, Scarlett, Wren and Nicolaus.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton. Trisagion prayers will be offered at 6 p.m. by Fr. Photios Tsamis. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 17 at 11 a.m. Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, 233 E 15th Street, Hamilton. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington Ontario.
