Emmanuel “Eman” Raposo Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emmanuel “Eman” (Acacio Alves) Raposo on May 1, 2024, in Golden, BC. Eman passed away at the age of 53 after a very sudden decline in his health. He was predeceased by his father Agostinho Gouveia Raposo and mother Maria de Lurdes Cabral Alves.
Eman was born in S. Miguel-Azores, Portugal and moved to Golden when he was 4 years old. He attended Golden Secondary School and graduated in 1990. He remained a resident of Golden, where he expanded his family and was a loyal employee of Pacific Woodtech.
Eman will be remembered as the life of the party, someone who loved to laugh and was always ready for the next prank. Some of his happiest memories were when he was on his boat and taking road trips on his bike. His greatest joys in life, where we could all see how big his love was, were in his children, watching Alyna excel at skating and academics and more recently chasing Bentley around the playground with a soccer ball.
Eman will forever be loved and remembered by his partner Nicole, daughter Alyna, son Bentley, sister Sandy (sons Austin and Sheldon), dog Ronaldo, and extended family and loyal friends.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Civic Centre, followed by a toast to Eman at the Riverhouse at 4 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to bring their favorite stories of Eman. While laughing might not be easy now, it was something that Eman loved to do, and it would be great to celebrate him by sharing all the joy, love, and laughter he brought to our lives.
