Elsie Loney Obituary
Loney, Elsie May, (b1930), previously from Goderich and Ottawa, passed peacefully on May 2, 2024, her 94th birthday in Waterdown, On. Elsie was predeceased by her devoted husband of 63 years, Richard Thomas, in 2016. Their legacy lives on through their five children; Bruce (Bev), Linda (Rick), Gord, Diane (Will), and Rich (Terri-Lynn). They enjoyed many special family times with their grandsons Jason (Sarah), Scott (Melanie), Travis (Rachel), Garrett (Natasha), Nelson and Wesley (Kelly), and now have six great grandchildren, Brensyn, Sylvee, Harvey, Arthur, Rosemary, and Adalynn.
Elsie was a strong, resourceful, inspiring woman, ahead of her time in many ways. She and Richard ran a successful business together, Metro Ottawa Delivery, for over 30 years. She enjoyed family times, travel, and her church. She liked to stay current and loved to learn, embracing new technology, keeping up with her Facebook friends, and attending Zoom church regularly.
Many thanks to everyone at Village Manor in Waterdown for their care and support over these last two years. Elsie was very comfortable there had made new friends and enjoyed a variety of activities.
A celebration of life will be held for Elsie at COPETOWN UNITED CHURCH, 2218 Governors Rd. in Copetown, ON, on Saturday, May 18, 2024 starting at 2 p.m. The Livestream of the Service will be available through the funeral home website for those that cannot attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Copetown United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
