Service update
The graveside service will take place on Sunday, September 22, 3:00 pm at the Old Kirk Cemetery.
It is with great sadness that the families of the late Ronald Oscar Swimm announce his passing on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, at the Corner Brook Palliative care unit, in his 78th, year.
He will be sadly missed by his 4 sons; Nelson (Debbie), Rodney (Connie), Parry (Angie), and Michael, his grandchildren; Diana, Shantal, Megan, Jesse, Scott, Rachelle, Denise, and Dawn, his great grandchildren; Dakota, Gynger, Sylus, Jaxsen and Enslie his partner; Diana, and her children; Dena (Cluney), Brenden (Paulette), Valetta (Terry), and Selby (Jane), and her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, his home care workers; Valetta Payne, and Charlene Payne, his brothers-in-law; Malcolm (Alva), and Barry (Lorraine), his sisters-in-law; Gloria (Prim), Millicent (Lloyd), and Alma (Rick). Ronald was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children; Lena (Bolina) nee Hutchings, his parents; Andrew and Juanita Swimm, and his in laws; Ralph and Irene Hutchings.
The family will be receiving family and friends at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Cow Head, NL, on Monday, May 6th, 2024, from the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Where also the funeral service will take place from on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Rev: Terry Rose officiating.
Then keeping with Ronald’s wishes cremation will take place. Then his cremains will be taken to Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia and laid to rest in the Old Kirk Cemetery on September 22 at 3pm, next to his wife, and mother of his four sons at a later date.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Doctors and nurses at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, and the nurses at the Palliative care unit at the NL Health Centre, in Corner Brook.
