It is profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sophie Sporbeck on May 3rd 2024, in her 82nd year. Sophie was reunited with her late husband Earl and son John.
Sophie will be missed by her children Dan (Pam), William (Lynda), Howard, Donna (Rick) Heddle, Douglas (the late Rose).
She will lovingly be remembered as Baba by all her Grandchildren, Brennon (Kayley), Nathan, Courtney, Zachary, Noah, Benjamin, Mathew, Jason, Jessika, Bryan, David, Steven, Cory, Bryan (Taylor),William and her Great Grandchildren, Aylin, Aubrey, Jet, Bradyn and Emerson.
Loving sister of the late Mike (Vera) Woranchanka.
She was a proud Ukrainian who took immense pride in cooking her families’ favorite dishes and cooking for big social events.
She cherished her family and had a unique hand for sewing. She loved to spend time going to her senior’s club, playing bingo and socializing.
She belonged to the Idlewyld family council and was a faithful member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday May 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 at Bay Gardens Funeral Home 947 Rymal Road, Hamilton. A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Protection of the Blessed Mary Ukranian Catholic Church 419 Pearle Street, Burlington on Wednesday May 8th at 9:30 am.
A special thanks to all those that supported and cared for her during her time of need. The family asks that donations be made to the Idlewyld Family Council for the creation of a new memorial garden.
