Peacefully at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby, the Lord called Gerrit (George) Vander Meulen home, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in his 85th year. Predeceased by his loving wife, Greta Vander Meulen (nee Tigchelaar). Dear father of Herman and Evelyn, Ann and Andy Defreitas, Karl and Audrey, Benjamin and Grace, David and Karen, Fran and Andrew Damm. Loving Pake to 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Brother to Harmen and Gerda Vander Meulen, Brother-in-law to Teuni Vander Meulen, Margaret Tigchelaar, Flora DenBok, Grace Tigchelaar, Joanne and Allan Heidbuurt. Predeceased by siblings and in laws, Jitske and Ed Huizinga, Ann Kroll, Elle Vander Meulen, Sidney and Gerda Vander Meulen, Mac and Catherine Vander Meulen, Ralph and Shirley Vander Meulen, Jack Tigchelaar, Bill Denbok, George Tigchelaar, David Tigchelaar.

Visitation on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown. Private Family Interment at Mount Zion Cemetery, Copetown, Friday, May 3, 2024, 2 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Bethel Netherlands Reformed Church, 68 Bethel Road, Paris, Ontario N3L 3E3, on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 3:15 p.m.
