It is with great sadness that we announce that John passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday April 29, 2024, at the age of 68 years. Beloved husband to Debbie (Robertson). Loving and devoted father to Ashley (Paul) and Brady (Kenzie). John will be dearly missed by his wife who was his best friend and companion of over forty years. John’s greatest achievement in life was his children who he was so very proud of and whom he shared a special bond with. John will be missed dearly by his grandchildren who he loved more than anything and who were his best friends; Finley, Brantley, and Vaughn. John was the proudest Papa and was so excited to hear the news that another grandbaby was on the way this summer. John was a big tease and you could often hear the laughter and pitter patter of little feet running in the next room. John loved the Montreal Canadiens and shared that passion with his children and his granddaughter Finley whom he spent hours with watching games and talking about hockey.
Cherished son of the late William and Georgina Coburn and loving brother to Linda Coleman (Gerry) and Lorraine Robertson (Harold). John’s most cherished moments were spent with his family enjoying every Sunday dinner and spending time at the lake. John was a local realtor who enjoyed a long career helping people find their perfect home. He did his job with the utmost honesty, integrity and is respected for his hard work and his kind heart. John will be missed dearly by his nieces, nephews and his many friends.
Friends may support the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Friday, May 3rd from 11am to 2pm. Funeral service will be in the chapel at 2pm following the visitation. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Carleton Place Hospital would be much appreciated.
He never looked for praise.
He was never one to boast.
He just went on quietly working for those he loved the most.
