Antoine “Tony” LeBlanc, 98 years old, of Shediac,
formerly of Moncton, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont
University Hospital Centre on Wednesday February 8, 2022 surrounded by
his loving family. Born in Pré-d’en-Haut, he was
the son of the late Stanislas and Julie (Gosselin)
LeBlanc.
He is survived by his three children: Paul
(Gaétane Chassé) of Dieppe, Pauline LaCroix
(Michel) of Shediac, and André (Louise Tardif) of
Riverview; beloved “Pépére” to his
five grandchildren: Marc-André, Isabelle,
Mélanie, Karine and Aimee, and nine great-grandchildren:
Logan, Kaleb, Aidan, Matthias, Cali-Anne, Noah, Olivier, Danielle and
Jacob; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Richard (2011). He
was the last surviving member of his 16 siblings.
He was a devoted GM car salesman for over 40 years. He
enjoyed many winters in Florida with his late wife Lorraine, summers
at his family cottage in Cocagne and Caissie Cape where he became an
avid gardener.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the personnel
of O’Bons Soins Residence in Shediac for the wonderful care
provided to Tony in recent years.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday February 14 at 11 am.
Visiting hours are Monday February 13 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm,
and Tuesday February 14 from 10 am until time of funeral. Interment
will be at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe in the spring. In
lieu of flowers, for those who wish to make a donation in memory of
Tony, the family suggests the CHU Dumont Foundation (Tree of Hope),
Hospice SENB Albert House, Nazareth House or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
