WHALEN, Michael – passed away peacefully at the John Nobel Home on Monday, February 6, 2023 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his wife Hazel (1995). Loving father of Shone (George McCready), Carron and Mike. Michael was the oldest of 13 siblings. He had served with the British Army after World War 2 with rebuilding Europe. Michael had worked at John Deere for many years, was a member of the Welland Police Pipe Band participating in many parades and was very active in playing soccer in many soccer clubs. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. when a service will be held in the Cudney Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
