Obituary of Catherine Nicholson, Dominion
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Catherine Nicholson, age 90 of Dominion on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 in Hospice Cape Breton with family by her side.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (McNeil) Morrison.
Catherine was a faithful member of the former St. Eugene’s Church, Dominion. She enjoyed going for drives with her husband and walking the Dominion Beach Boardwalk. Catherine was known as a stylish dresser and elegant dancer. But mostly, she will be remembered as a very kind and compassionate lady, always ready to help anyone in need.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Florence Nicholson, Dominion, sons, Rodney, Sydney, George (Kim), Ontario and her sister, Annie Flemming, Ontario.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jeannie, Keegan, Christopher, Brandon Nicholson, great grandchildren, Tara, Lauren, Evelyn, special nieces, Danese Nicholson and Susan Golding and her beloved dog, Sandy.
Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband, George Nicholson, brothers, Neil, Angus, Leo Morrison and her sister, Florence Genter.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be held at a later date.
