Gerald’s Obituary
BABIN, Gerald Charles – age 77, of Hebron, formerly of Wedgeport, passed away peacefully at home on March 28th, 2024. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Elmer and Dorothy (LeBlanc) Babin.
Gerald was well travelled, living in both Canada and the United States at different times in his life. He worked on the Bluenose as a bosun and deck hand. He was a carpenter and a foreman, as well as a drywaller. Gerald loved to tinker and make things with his hands. He was a talented photographer and took some amazing photographs. He enjoyed cooking and knew his way around the kitchen, but will be remembered for his love of BBQing.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Theresa; children, Colin (Gina Raynard); Julian (Ruth Shorten); Katie (Chris Hipson); siblings, Donnie (Zelma) Babin; Suzanne (Roland) Babin-Muise; and grandsons, Riley, Logan and Dawson.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. As per Gerald’s wishes, there will be no service. Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to the Tri-County VON or the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund. To leave messages of condolence for the family, please visit www.huskilson.net
