Dale Standing
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale Standing of Fredericton, NB, husband of Louise (Rivard) Standing, on March 22, 2024. Dale was born in Moncton , NB on April 24, 1970, and raised in Riverview , NB. He was the son of Trudy (Grant) Standing and the late David Standing. Dale worked for the Department of Health, as Director for Physician Services, Claims Assessment and Medical Systems. He loved sports and continued his involvement throughout his life. He played and coached football for Acadia University , coached the New Brunswick Provincial Elite Football Team, as well as several minor sports teams with the Capital Area Minor Football Association and the Fredericton Youth Hockey Association. A round of golf with family and friends was always enjoyed by Dale.
Besides his wife and mother, Dale is survived by his three children, Nathan, Noah, and Claire; siblings, Wayne Standing (Tammie) of Houston , TX , and Paula Somers (Jim) of Oakville , ON ; father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Marie-Anne Rivard, sister-in-law Vicky Rivard (Daniel), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive , Fredericton on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm. The funeral will take place at York Funeral Home on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 3pm with Rev. Nicholas Saulnier officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery , Fredericton NB at a later date.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
