Barbara Shantora
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of (Violet) Barbara Shantora (née Stinson) on March 19, 2024. Barbara was born in Bobcageon and grew up in Arthur, ON. Beloved wife and best friend of Victor Shantora for over 52 years. Barbara will be forever missed by her children Julie Kettles (John) and Heather Shantora, grandchildren Justin, Charlotte, Sarah and Harrison. Also survived by her cherished sister Donna Kunkel (Jim), niece Virginia Greenaway (John) and great Niece and Nephew Nahanni and Seth.
A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at Cutten Fields Golf Course, 190 College Ave E, in Guelph on Thursday March 28th from 11am-1pm. Eulogy to be delivered at noon. Barbara was a vibrant person who embraced life and for that reason she would want all attendees to wear anything but black.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision Canada, Barbara’s favourite charity in support of overseas children in need.
The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness and dedication of the health care teams at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and the palliative care team at the Mississauga Trillium Hospital.
