SAJBERT, Ilonka (nee Palfi) – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Millennium Trail Manor on Saturday March 23, 2024 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Martin Sajbert (2019). Dearly loved mother of Marin Sajbert, Ivan (Diane) Sajbert and Helen (Eric) Kerim. Cherished Babu, Grandma of Tonya Sajbert, Stephanie Sajbert (Bryan Jones), Courtney (Matt) Cole, Brittney Kerim, Nathan Sajbert, Gavin Sajbert and Stetson Sajbert. Great-grandmother of Hope, Faith, Chloe, Emily, Henry and another great-granddaughter on her way in August. She is survived by her sisters Katarina (Milan) Dmitrovic and Maria Opacic. Predeceased by her parents Ilona and Djula Palfi and brother Alekander Palfi. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and Europe. Ilonka’s life was not easy, but she made the best of it and she did so by her selflessness in caring for others. A good friend of her’s recently commented that she worked so hard taking care of others that she did so at her own expense. She was an extremely kind, gentle, caring woman who enjoyed cooking, baking and tending to her rose and vegetable gardens. A true outdoors person who loved to go fishing with her husband and family. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Ilonka was very social and will be missed by so many people. Special thank you to the staff of Millennium Trail Manor for their care and compassion. Friends and family are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Tuesday March 26, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday March 27, 2024 at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery.
