Ernestine Patricia Nicklassen, 94, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 at her residence in Rising Sun, Diamond Valley, Alberta.
Pat was born on July 28, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario. She was the only surviving child of Bert and Betty Rowe. She grew up in northern Manitoba and moved to Alberta as a young adult and married John Harold Nicklassen in 1955. Pat loved gardening, she enjoyed doing many crafts, but her passion was knitting, producing many pieces for her family and charities that endure today. With John she travelled throughout Canada, the United States and to Australia. Her family was very important to her and she welcomed everyone with open arms and a kind word. Dogs were a vital part of her life and she always had one by her side as long as she could.
She is survived by her four children; Linda, Robert (Rob), Kathryn (Kathy) and Colleen and their spouses Jackie, Murray and Sherry respectively. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Jessica, Ashley, Aaron, Meagan, Eric, Jocelyn and Logan; as well as 11 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband John, her grandson Travis and both her parents.
In lieu of flowers please donate to your local SPCA. A special thanks goes out to all the staff at Rising Sun Long Term Care who made her last few years there as a resident comfortable.
