On Sunday, March 3, 2024 we bade farewell to an extraordinary man. Lindsay Stafford, in his 65th year, departed from us. Lindsay hailed from Glasgow, Scotland and embarked on a new journey to Canada, a young lad alongside his family.
He leaves behind his devoted partner Laurie, with whom he shared 21 years of unwavering love. He is predeceased by his father William Stafford and his mother Aileen Stafford. Surviving him are his brother Bill and wife Ann, sister Aileen and her partner Tommy, his son Robbie, his step-sons Chris and Mike, his nephews Anthony, Gabe, Mike, Charlie, Will, Ryan, niece Mary and great-niece Violet. Lindsay was also a special “Grumpy” to Maxim and Ryane.
Lindsay was a remarkable man, leaving an indelible mark on all those who knew him. His valiant efforts to help anyone less fortunate than himself showcased his resilience and bravery. His compassionate nature, generous spirit and selfless love extended to those in need, his friends, his family – and for that he will be fondly remembered as someone with an immense heart and strength. Laurie will forever cherish his love and his memory as will all who were fortunate to cross paths with him.
For 17 years Lindsay served as a carpenter foreman at Hydro One, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Among his many passions was his bond with his loyal companion. It was unbreakable, and Buddy mourns the loss of his beloved “Daddy.” Lindsay also loved his motorcycle and long weekend trips to the falls with his friends.
As he faced his final moments, he displayed grace, fortitude and immeasurable courage. His absence leaves a void never to be filled and unable to explain.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 2-4 pm at Quehl’s Restaurant. 33 Woodstock St., S. Tavistock, ON. in the rear banquet hall.
Donations in Lindsay’s memory to a charity of one’s choice, may be made through Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services. 804 Ontario St., Stratford. 519-271-5062.
