It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Matt Reaume, surrounded by love, and his family, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the age of 44. Matt was the son of Bernie and Donna Reaume (nee Moir). Loving husband of Theresa Reaume (nee Kerkhof), and father of Abrianne Cadotte, Tristan Charleen Reaume, Jordan Reaume, Elizabeth Giroux, Emma Giroux, and Abbygail Giroux. Matt was survived by his siblings Mary Dickson (Jim) and Bonnie Stefina (Josh). Uncle of Savannah and Sienna Bradley, Petra Stefina, and Jackxon and Beatriz McRitchie. Son-in-law of Bev Martin, and Chris and Karen Kerkhof. Matt is predeceased by his niece and nephew Anna and Joseph Stefina.
Matt was an industrial pipe fitter and mechanic. He enjoyed racing and going to Maroons games with friends. He loved the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Lions. He also loved buses. He could name the type of bus and the year just by looking at it.
Matt was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 2015. He was so positive through the whole time he was fighting it, and he fought hard. He was a strong man and never let his tumour define who he was, or stopped him from enjoying the things he wanted to do or see. Matt lived so much more of life after his diagnosis, then he ever did before. He was always more worried about making everyone smile than he was about coping with his illness. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
