Obituary of Richard Schwichtenberg
On Friday, March 1st, 2024, Richard Schwichtenberg of Wingham, passed away at the age of 87.
Beloved husband of the late Rosemary (Massel) Schwichtenberg who predeceased him in 2002. Loving dad of Karen Schwichtenberg & Mark Bintinger of New York. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his devoted friend Gail Holmes as well as his many nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Richard & Della (Kutz) Schwichtenberg.
Richard spent his working years at CKNX. He was a talented man who possessed a curious mind and a fascination with technology. There wasn’t a vintage radio or circuit board that he could not revive. He was also passionate about woodworking, which is evident through his countless projects and creations.
Friends and family could always rely on Richard to lend a helping hand, armed with a set of tools and his wealth of knowledge.
A Celebration of Richard’s life held at the Wingham Columbus Centre on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Formosa in the spring.
Donations can be made to Nature Conservancy Canada in Richard’s memory.
