Passed away peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter with her family by her side on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Glenn Koehler for 53 years. Cherished mother of Brenda and Richard Schilbe, Garry and Brenda Koehler, and Betty Lynn and Doug Eckel. Adored grandmother of Jason, Krista and Avi; Shauna and Steven, Jillian and Jesse; Jaime, and Kraig and Laura, and great-grandmother of MacIntyre, Hallee, Kai, Kiran; Caden, Callie, Jack, Blakely, Lily; Koleson, Tucker, and Hunter. Dear sister of Margaret Consitt, and sister-in-law of Dianne and Raye Armstrong, Lynda and Denton Gaiser, and Keith and Fiona Koehler. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her great-grandson Avery, her brother Elmer, brothers and sisters in-law Anna Campbell, Ray Consitt, Don and Alice Koehler, and Joan and Art McCallum, and her parents Percy and Emma (Love) Campbell,
Mom lived in the Hensall area all her life. She was a hard working and proud wife, mother, grandma and great grandma who enjoyed the simple things in life and wanted for little. She was a dedicated Canada Post employee for many years and loved meeting people while at the post office. She retired when she was 80 years of age, after enjoying the many personal interactions with local residents and businesses. Mom and Dad loved their years camping at Old Homestead where they made many life-long friends. Mom loved music … she was Dad’s biggest fan, never missing a night out to hear him play. Among her other loves were taking long walks and most importantly, spending time with family.
We are extremely grateful to the Doctors and Nurses at South Huron Hospital for their kindness, compassion and exceptional care shown to Mom and her family in our time of need. Special thanks also to the staff of Queensway Nursing Home for their dedication and great care given to Mom.
May the Angels sing and her laughter ring, as she enters the gates to join Dad and be welcomed by the Lord.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday, March 27th from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Audrey’s funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11 AM. Interment at Hensall Union Cemetery to be held at a later date.
