After she became a bride in 1955, she was blessed with a family of
seven children and several grandchildren. Doreen doted on her
children/grandchildren when they were young. The family
cherished the memories of many day trips, mini-golf, camping, dining
out, etc. The family also enjoyed memorable trips with her
to tourist destinations such as PEI, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Maine and
New Hampshire, and train rides to Ontario.
Doreen was known for her generosity, sense of humor, and she
loved to share stories about her large family from past generations
and about her life growing up. She enjoyed many activities, which
included sewing, various book puzzles, listening to country music from
the 50’s to the 70’s. Doreen enjoyed
cooking, canning, pickling and making jams; she had volunteered to
cook for church dinners, and her family had always looked forward to
turkey dinners during the holidays and special
occasions.
Doreen had a long employment history which includes
housekeeping in private homes, working at the Keswick Apple house, as
custodian at the Keswick Valley School, a nurse aide at York Manor, to
name a few.
Besides her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her husband of
62 years, Vernon I. Morehouse (2017); Her sons, Gregory V. Morehouse

“You
may be gone from my sight, but you are never gone from my
heart.”

private interment/graveside service will take place at a later date.

memory, the family suggests either the Alzheimer’s Society
of NB or the Heart & Strike Foundation.
